When this iconic red Mexico arrived at the workshop, the vintage single-stage paintwork was heavily oxidised, presenting a dull, chalky pink appearance rather than its original vibrant, deep red. Decades of storage and light road use had left fine wash-marring and swirls across the panels. Furthermore, classic steel wheels and bare metal calipers are highly susceptible to corrosion, the glass offered zero modern water-beading capabilities, and most importantly, the unprotected classic underbody was completely vulnerable to the damp Irish climate and damaging road salt.
